Position
We are seeking a full-time Research Associate for the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Investment Research department. He or she will be responsible for conducting ESG research on Japanese companies across all industries, as well as, non-Japanese companies for specific industry groups.  This position requires strong Japanese reading and writing skills to enhance the research process. Tasks include reading and analyzing company documents, press articles, and third-party reports in order to evaluate companies according to Domini’s ESG Standards. The Research Associate will also communicate and engage with corporations and other stakeholders when necessary. 

Qualifications

  • minimum of bachelor’s degree in humanities, social science, finance or related field
  • must be fluent in Japanese, this includes reading, writing, and speaking (both conversationally and participating in business meetings conducted in Japanese)
  • familiarity with, and interest in, social and environmental issues 
  • solid writing and research skills, including the ability to produce definitive analysis
  • must be authorized to work in the United States
  • familiarity with 10-K documents or Yuho a plus
  • familiarity with Bloomberg, Factiva, a/or Nikkei Telecon 21 a plus

Position
The Domini Social Investments IT Manager oversees all technology, telecom, and electrical aspects of the NYC Domini office. IT segments include security, system administration, desktop support and training, database and web development, and planning/budgeting.

Security
The IT Manager is responsible for selection, implementation, and auditing of all security technologies, including firewalls, endpoint protection, mobile device management, securing of third-party hosted data,  remote access, and local resource privilege management. In addition, the IT Manager works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure all security practices comply with current industry and federal cybersecurity guidelines.
 
System Administration
The IT Manager is responsible for implementation and maintenance of a hybrid network of Windows and Macintosh workstations, as well as a Windows and Linux VMWare-based server environment. Documentation and inventory of system configurations as well as regular maintenance and lifecycle management are primary areas of system administration.
 
Desktop Support and Training
The IT Manager oversees the Desktop and Network Administrator, whose primary responsibilities are desktop support. In addition to oversight, the IT Manager provides desktop support expertise as well as managing vendor relations for specialized support situation. In addition to support, the IT Manager is responsible for providing direct employee training or selecting and providing access to training materials.
 
Database and Web Development
The IT Manager manages Domini’s public-facing websites as well as all intranet sites. The IT Manager is expected to provide purpose-driven development based on input from internal Domini department concerns. Primary internal development partnerships include both Research and Marketing driven projects. The IT Manager will develop and maintain business intelligence processes and reporting systems. Additionally, the IT Manager will be involved in the selection and management of any external vendors providing custom database solutions.
 
Planning and Budgeting
The IT Manager is responsible for all IT expense tracking and inventory, as well as annual budgeting and 3-5 year strategy planning.
 
Qualifications
  • Senior level experience (+5 years).
  • Experience with the following technologies is required: Windows Server 2012 and newer, Windows 7 Pro and newer, Mac OS X, VMware/vCenter 5.5 and newer, VoIP, firewall/VPN, Office365/Exchange administration, Microsoft SQL Server/MySQL, Apache, Linux/Ubuntu, PHP. 
  • Additional qualifications that are preferred: familiarity or experience in a regulated industry environment; certification in system administration and/or security; VBA and Microsoft Access experience; comfort with interdisciplinary tasks.
