As sustainability commitments proliferate, investors are increasingly focused on whether companies are delivering on their promises. Bridging the “say-do gap” requires practical tools to assess whether commitments are translating into real-world action. Understanding the signals of credible implementation can help investors better evaluate risk, impact, and long-term value.
Can the money you invest reflect what you actually care about? For 35 years, that question has been at the heart of Domini’s work, and of a broader shift in how the financial world thinks about its role. Domini CEO Carole Laible sat down with Founder and Chair Amy Domini for a conversation about the past, present and future of impact investing.
At Domini, we believe the credibility of a sustainable business model depends on evidence that commitments translate into practice. Our latest Impact Update looks at where that translation is working, where it is stalling, and how investor leverage can help move it forward.
At Domini, we seek to invest in companies that produce high-quality, safe, and useful products that contribute positively to communities. We recognize that income inequality and the rising cost of essential goods and services create not only challenges for individuals and companies but also systemic risks across society and the broader economy.
Why does Pride matter to impact investors? Because human dignity matters, and because the long-term health of our economy is inseparable from the fair and full participation of every person in it. Pride begins with a simple truth: no one should have to make themselves smaller, quieter, or invisible to be safe.
Domini has established National Impact Investing Day to be observed annually on June 3. The day commemorates the growth of impact investing and coincides with the 35th anniversary of the Domini Impact Equity Fund, one of the first sustainable index funds and an early pioneer in the use of environmental and social standards in investing.
At Domini, affordability is a core focus. Our engagements this quarter addressed the cost-of-living pressures across sectors, with a focus on food, the digital divide, financial services, and auto lending.
